I put two items in the box:
A knife with which I cut all the "scotches" in my oil paintings from the 70s and 80s. Presented to me by Vasily Bubnov, an artist from Moscow in 1978.
Sticks for bites, given to me for my birthday by the artist Dimitar Bakalov - Tzimpeto, in the early 80's. We met in the same year 1978 in Bozhentsi, Bulgaria.
At that time we were separated (the socialist camp) from the rest of the world and every "small" thing we supported each other in the contemporary art was important for reducing the artistic loneliness in the environment in which we lived.
Important items that I would put in the box, but are lost, are: a quick-drying oil paint varnish by Jerzy Ostrogorski from Gdansk and "Punk Safety Needle" by Sandor Bernat from Budapest.
I had donated works from both of them, which were not considered art in Bulgaria at that time. They have been hanging, "provocatively" in my living room in Blagoevgrad since 1978 and in the 80's. I also met them in 1978 in Bozhentsi.
