»Where does the rest of the world begin?« (Herbarium Edition)
The content of the box is a further iteration of my body of work “Where does the rest of the world begin?” (2024), which reflects on the deep entanglements of human consciousness, natural environment, and current technology. The tentacle is a key motif in the original multimedia installation and manifests here in a miniature version. Furthermore, the tentacles also serve as an image trigger for the accompanying Augmented Reality application, through which the tentacles are expanded beyond the frame on a digital layer.
You can download the app for free from Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The digital content unfolds, when you scan the box with the camera of your mobile phone. By clicking on the screen of your device, you can place animated tentacles in the space around you, and create a forest that oscillates between nature and technology.
