Şifa Girinci
20х40х10 cm, site-specific installation, paving stones of various dimensions, acrylic
Edition 1/3 + 1AP
The work "Solidarity is the New Currency" is an installation created by intervening on paving stonesfound on the streets of Berlin. By addressing the relationship between the concept of solidarity and the construction of solidarity, it functions as a manifesto that reminds us of our most basic human resource in the face of the dilemmas of our time, where the material is insufficient.
This installation, created specifically for the Herbarium collection, transforms the box presented for the project by detaching it from its functional context and reimagining it as a symbolic object; it is designed as a first aid cabinet. Positioned as a threshold between crisis and intervention, the box invites us to reconsider solidarity as a new form of value amid ecological and social fragilities. The first aid cabinet also embodies the urgency of solidarity.
